Accessibility Statement
Last updated: 26 September 2025 (Asia/Jerusalem)

VIRTUS is committed to providing an inclusive, equitable online experience for all visitors, including people with disabilities. Our candle website includes product discovery (scents, collections, bundles), rich imagery, and checkout features; we work continuously to make these experiences accessible.

Standards & Legal Framework
We strive to conform to the Israeli Standard 5568 (based on WCAG 2.0, Level AA) as referenced by the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Law, 5758‑1998 and the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations, 5773‑2013. Wherever feasible, we also aim to meet relevant success criteria from WCAG 2.1 AA.
Note: This statement is informational and does not constitute legal advice; our goal is practical accessibility aligned with applicable Israeli requirements.
What We’ve Implemented
Semantic structure & headings: Clear page titles, landmarks, and logical heading hierarchy across product and content pages.
Alt text for imagery: Descriptive alternative text for meaningful images (e.g., candle vessels, labels, wax textures). Purely decorative images are marked accordingly.
Keyboard operability: Navigation, search, filters (e.g., scent notes), cart, and checkout are designed to be operable via keyboard with visible focus states.
Forms & labels: Inputs (quantity, shipping details, gift‑card notes) include proper labels, instructions, and textual error messages.
Color & contrast: We test text and interactive elements for contrast in line with WCAG 2.0/2.1 AA guidance.
Responsive design: Pages adapt to mobile, tablet, and desktop layouts without loss of functionality.
Media & motion: Captions/transcripts provided where media is used; reduced motion preferences are respected where possible.
Consistent components: Menus, buttons, and controls behave consistently across the site.
Ongoing Efforts
Accessibility is a journey. We conduct periodic manual reviews and automated checks, fix issues as they are identified, and incorporate accessibility into design, content, and development workflows (including alt‑text guidelines for new product photography and scent launches).
Known Limitations
While we endeavor to meet the standard, you may encounter:
-
User‑generated or third‑party content not fully under our control (e.g., embedded maps, payment widgets). We seek accessible alternatives or provide workarounds.
-
Occasional gaps in alt text or form hints on newly published items. We prioritize remediation as part of our release process.
Third‑Party Platforms
Some services (e.g., payment processing, analytics, or shipping calculators) are provided by third parties. We review vendor accessibility statements when selecting partners and raise issues with vendors when discovered.
Feedback & Contact
Your feedback helps us improve. If you experienced an accessibility barrier on our site—or need an accessible alternative format—please contact us:
-
Email: shachargilbar@gmail.com
Please include the page URL, a description of the issue, the assistive technology/browser you used, and your contact details. We aim to acknowledge inquiries within 7 business days and provide a substantive response or fix within a reasonable timeframe, subject to complexity and third‑party constraints.
Requests for Reasonable Accommodations
If you require a specific accommodation to access information or place an order (for example, assistance completing checkout), let us know via email and we will offer appropriate alternatives, such as phone‑assisted ordering, accessible documents, or adjusted communication methods.
Continuous Improvement
We are committed to ongoing training, content guidelines (including fragrance‑note taxonomy that is screen‑reader friendly), and QA checks before major releases. If you notice something we can do better, we sincerely invite your input.
